Missions Work in South India
In 2005 Heart of the Matter Ministries International began an awesome Partnership with Dr. John Willmott of Pioneer intercultural services in South India. Dr. Willmott has been a church planter and missionary in India for over 47 years. India has a population of over one billion and over 80% of the population is Hindu. Heart of the Matter Ministries ministers to the underprivileged, blind and disabled of Southern India. Karen Woods is partially blind in both eyes and has a special call to blind and disabled. Karen and Dr. John Willmott are working hard to raise support to build a center for the blind and disabled As a special tribute to Karen’s heart for India and her love and care for the blind and disabled Dr. Willmott and the area India pastors decided to call the blind center, “Karen Woods Love Center”. The Karen Love Center Building project is located in Villupuram.
This project has 3 acres of land.
The Purpose of this center is to evangelize 50 villages that has a heavy concentration of underprivileged blind people.

Become a Partner!!!
Touching the heart of Nations with the Love of Jesus......
Dr. Willmott and I cordially invite you to partner with us through your love, prayers and financial support.
Our Objective: Share the love of Christ through HMMI by serving the hurting here in the USA and serve the underprivileged in India.
Partnership is a relationship between 2 or more people frequently working together toward one common goal. Your partnership is a decision to financially and prayerfully support the Heart of the Matter Ministries International, which includes counseling, workshops and music to reach out to the hurting.
Partners Program Goals:
- Raise funds to support Karen for HMMI operation expenses, India trip and ministry in India.
- Seek partners who can support consistently, i.e., monthly basis.
- Identify projects that can raise funds for HMMI and advertise.
The ministry work in India reaches out to blind, gypsies, widows and orphans:
- Building project - Center for the blind under privileged,
Cost: $30,000, Support needed $1000/month to finish the project in 2-3 yrs
- 8 Cottages for Widows/children currently living in grave-yard
Cost: $30,000, ~ $3750 per cottage, 8 pledges for $300/mo to cover this
- Support Gypsy Children: 30 in Chennai ($500/mo) and 30 in Madurai ($200/mo)
Missions Trip to India: We encourage our partners to go with us to experience the nature of the ministry work personally. Remember You Go Where HMM Goes! Your prayers and financial support are what enable us to show the love of God to the needy and preach the life-changing message of Jesus Christ.
Phil 4:17 - Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account".
Consider these prior to planning the visit:
- When missionaries visit India and give hope to the needy, they set an expectation. The underprivileged expect and wait for the support to arrive. If the financial support is delayed, their hope is down and the visit doesn’t really produce the desired outcome, i.e., showing the love of Christ through our words and action, and winning them to Christ.
Prov 13:12 - Hope deferred makes the heart sick, But when the desire comes, it is a tree of life.
James 2:26 - For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
- In India the manual labor is cheap and the great need is financial support.
- The cost for a 10-day trip to India is ~$3500. The visit by itself doesn’t meet their need.
- So, prayerfully consider (1) adding $500 to the expense to support one of the Ministries listed if you are planning to visit, and/or (2) become a partner to support financially.
Mat 25:40 - "And the King will answer and say to them, 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.'
